Dr Georgina Hayworth
MBChB FRACGP
General Practitioner
Village Medicine, Brunswick Heads
Dr Georgina Hayworth is a General Practitioner with over 26 years of clinical experience across child psychiatry, critical care medicine, and general practice.
Her early work in psychiatry, followed by training in critical care, highlighted for her the close and often under-recognised relationship between mental and physical health. This led her to general practice, where she could bring these strands together and offer more comprehensive, whole-person care.
A holistic and evidence-based approach
Dr Hayworth takes a holistic approach that is firmly grounded in evidence-based medicine. She considers the interaction between mental health, physical health, lifestyle and environmental factors, understanding that these elements of health are closely intertwined and rarely exist in isolation.
She places strong emphasis on preventative healthcare, working to address risk factors early and reduce the likelihood of more complex medical treatment later.
Dr Hayworth's interests include
- Mental health (especially neurodivergence)
- Sleep disorders
- Genetics and immune-mediated conditions (including autoimmune disorders and MCAS)
- Gastrointestinal health
- Women’s health (menopause, menstrual disorders, pregnancy and sexual health)
- Cardiovascular conditions including POTS
- Connective tissue disorders.
She aims to provide thoughtful, thorough and collaborative care, supporting patients with both straightforward and complex presentations.
